Peat – Kammie’s Oddball Challenge – February 7, 2019

Each week Kammie challenges us to post an oddball photo:

Odd Ball Photos are those great photos that you take which really don’t seem to fit into a common category.  We’ve all taken them and like them, because we just can’t hit delete and get rid of them.

This week I went looking in the archives, friends had mentioned a holiday that had me looking back through some old shots.  I found this photo taken on a Minolta Dimage Z3.  While the photo itself is not that much of an oddball, being of a peat cutting ditch in the Outer Hebrides, the resultant mirrored image is a bit of an oddity.

    1. But possibly shaped by photographers – “[P]hotography penetrated the cognitive style of Freud and his contemporaries,” – Mirrors of Memory: Freud, Photography, and the History of Art – Mary Bergstein

    1. Not sure what prompted me to mirror the original photo, but glad I did, it took a fairly ordinary photo and made something special from it. Glad you like it, it certainly does draw the eye.
