Here lie Vikings – Tuesday Photo Challenge – Back Catalog

This week Frank challenges us with the topic:

As often happens, when I start going through the archives, I find something that I just might want to treat in a different manner… That led me to the theme for this week: Back Catalog.

The image below, reworked for this post always catches my attention, taken with the old Dimage Z3, taken on the first day of our honeymoon , this picture always grabs my attention. Not from any great sense of compositional skill, but the subject matter.  These are recreated Viking grave markers in a church that if I remember rightly was somewhere near Greystoke.  I remember suddenly being overtaken by the sense that my wife and I were embarking on a new journey, but all around were the signs that our ancestors were watching over us, I was overcome with a feeling of contentment, not the usual feeling I get when I visit a graveyard!
