Now you are pulling at my heart strings, Ken. Showing me photos of Roskilde is making me homesick for Denmark. I love the angle you chose for this photo. It makes the houses look Lilliputian! Thanks for joining in on Friendly Friday.

I do hope to go back, I was only in Denmark for just under a week, only visited once, but I loved it, and I loved the people that I met and interactions that took place. For a committed Welshman and subject to Hiraeth every time I leave, it was a very homely place to visit! Take care, stay safe, Ken

It is hard to explain but – Hiraeth (Welsh pronunciation: [hɪraɨ̯θ, hiːrai̯θ]) is a Welsh word for homesickness or nostalgia, an earnest longing or desire, or a sense of regret. – But most Welsh people will tell you it is so much more than that!

I like these named cultural traditions. It reminds me a bit of the cosy atmospheric concept, called hygge- hard to translate but cosy and fun to do.
