The colour of childhood summers.

Challenge: Weekly Prompts: Weekend Challenge
Topic: Calamine

This weekend Sue and GC ask:

The Weekend Challenge from partner GC and me is our monthly Colour Challenge, and for September the colour is Calamine.

Gnat bites, rashes, prickly heat, nettle stings, chicken pox, sunburn, in fact anything that itched and the Calamine lotion would be slathered on when I was young. Cooling and soothing at first then turning to a fine dry powder that rubbed off on everything.

It was the Colour of summer when I was growing up – or rather I was generally the colour of dried calamine lotion!

I can almost remember the smell.
