Time, Landscape, Art – Friday Fun: Layers

For this weeks Friday Fun we have been asked:

Layer upon layer, they might weave, compliment or contrast
but layers draw our attention
Whether through your lens or with creative writing … go where the prompt leads!

I sometimes feel I step back through the layers of history when I visit sites such as these, they always tend to be sited where the panorama is many layered, and they always lead me to explore the layers of my creativity.

I only saw the sky – Weekly Prompts – Photo Challenge Sky

This weekend the challenge GC and Sue W have set is Sky:

What about you, what do you see when your attention turns toward the sky?

As usual, this challenge is open to your own unique interpretation.

Sometimes the sky is enough.  ‘Light’ at Castlerigg Stone circle, Lake district, 2018.sky1

And at other times the sky harmonises perfectly with the shapes in the foreground.  ‘Formations’, Cairnholy II, Dumfries and Galloway, 2018.sky2

I wish I could say I waited for the clouds above to take that formation, but it was just one of those happy accidents that they accentuate the shape of Cairnholy II.
