Wooded way – Which Way Challenge: June 06, 2019

Each week sonofabeach96 challenges us with the following:

This Which Way challenge is all about capturing the roads, walks, trails, rails, steps, signs, etc. we move from one place to another on.  You can walk on them, climb them, drive them, ride on them, as long as the specific way is visible.  Any angle of a bridge is acceptable as are any signs.

Mysterious and tree lined.

Chair of plenty – Friendly Friday: Chair

This Friday, Something to Ponder About and The Snow Melts Somewhere have challenged us with:

This week’s theme is Chair. I’m looking forward to seeing your entries!

Well I had just been editing this for XingfuMama’s Pull up a seat challenge, so I thought I would also give it another shot with a slightly different crop and take on the editing process here.

Stepway – Which Way Challenge: May 8, 2019

Each week sonofabeach96 challenges us with the following:

This Which Way challenge is all about capturing the roads, walks, trails, rails, steps, signs, etc. we move from one place to another on.  You can walk on them, climb them, drive them, ride on them, as long as the specific way is visible.  Any angle of a bridge is acceptable as are any signs.

The path disappears into the distance, to another set of stairs to who knows where!

Mysterious machines – Tuesday Photo Challenge: Technology.

Well this week Frank challenges us with the topic ‘Technology’:

With a great start into the 4th year, I was challenged to come up with a theme this week. The ones that came to mind had either been used or were too hard to verify that they were not a repeat… Then the theme of Technology came to mind, as that is what brought us all here. So your challenge for this week is to capture technology, old and new, in a way that connects it to you.

So rather than just use last weeks post for this week ;), I thought this week I would use these two photos of technological follies!  They sort of remind me of the film ‘Brazil’.

Repetition – Weekly Photo Challenge: Repeating Patterns

For this weeks challenge, Jen of Traveling at Wits End ask us:

Photograph Repeating Patterns
I worked on this compositional technique a lot when I first started trying to improve my photography skills. My eye will see repeating patterns, but only if the are really obvious. Once I started looking for repeating patterns, though they seem to be everywhere!

The world seems a random place at times, but look again, maybe it’s not as random as you first thought.

So here are a couple of photos from the archive:

The first two from Zennor church, Cornwall, 2014.

The third is of another Pipe organ at St. Grada, a church in Cornwall – 2014.  I had never edited this photo as it was slightly out of focus, but it works for this challenge.

And the fourth repetition, some architectural detail at Mumbles Pier – 2015. We were observing the rite of needing a cup of tea while out for the day, at the time.

And the fifth a photo I have used for a challenge before, scaffolding at Castle Drogo – 2015. On one of our many trips to Cornwall, we stopped in on the way.

Building angles

Well I could go on, because once you start looking repetition is everywhere.
