Un-Green Man- Sunday Stills – Green.

This week Teri has challenged us with:

Tis the season for showing us something green, if you celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.

Even if you don’t, the color green is all around us. If you want to get creative, you can use and interpret green idioms as in “green with envy,” “going green” (environmental), “sure as God made little green apples,” “giving something/someone the green light,” or “green thumb.” You get the idea!

Since I am all about my favorite color green, my images for this week’s Sunday Stills theme focus on things that are green.

Well my first thought when I had read that the challenge was to be green was to take a picture of my wife’s thumb, she is good with plants, then I thought maybe one of the nearby wind turbines, or maybe a piece of green Lego sat next to me on the desk.

So what I wanted to find in my archives was a photo of a Green Man, a foliate figure carving in wood or stone, however I could not find any at first glance, this is something I will have to add to my list to rectify.

This cheeky face at Dyrham Park was the nearest I could get!

And just for another splash of green a fern near Zennor Quoit.

And then finally I found him, although he is the least green in colour, he is providing the water, which is the life of the garden in which he is situated, and thus providing for the luscious green foliage that is around him.

Dropping off the end of the world – PHOTO CHALLENGE: Depth

I found it quite hard to choose a suitable photo for this weeks Photo challenge “Depth”.  Should I just go down the depth of field route? should it have something to do with water?

Anyway in the end I picked this taken at Dyrham park:

Dyrham

DeerWe had a day out at Dyrham park the other day, so just to wet your appetite until I get some photos on Facebook in the coming months, here are two shots in way of a Photo of the week.Dyrham [As always click for a bigger pic].  In editing news – I still have a few hundred shots from the HS20 to wade through before I get to those from the a6000, oh well at least I enjoy it.  Wonder if we will have nice enough weather to get out and about this weekend?
