Skull canvas – One word Sunday Challenge – Skull

This week Debbie has challenged us with the following:

Welcome to One Word Sunday, and over to all of you to join the challenge with your own skull post.

So I read this while I was away at the weekend, and knew I just had to take a photo of this skull which hangs on my study wall when I got home.  The feathers are a bit tatty now perhaps I should replace them, but I did make this with the help of nature and a sheep skull over 20 years ago.

Light paws – One word Sunday Challenge – Movement

This week Debbie has challenged us with the following:

Welcome to One Word Sunday, and over to all of you to join the challenge with your own movement post.

So one of those rare occasions where I knew which photo I wanted to use, as I had seen it when answering another recent challenge. And serendipity struck as the photo next to it in the archive also fit the bill, and I had been looking for an excuse to use it.

Contrasting forms – One word Sunday Challenge – Contrast

This week Debbie has challenged us with the following:

Welcome to One word Sunday – over to all of you to join the challenge with your own contrast post.

So I have done a couple of contrast posts recently and wondered what I would have for this one.  But a quick look at the albums made me start thinking about this shot, not just the contrast in the shot, but the contrast between the objects.  I am fairly sure that this juxtaposition of solid versus holed objects would be what Barbara Hepworth wanted us to consider.

I felt the most intense pleasure in piercing the stone in order to make an abstract form and space; quite a different sensation from that of doing it for the purpose of realism. – Barbara Hepworth
