Remembered way – Which Way Challenge: August 8th, 2019

Each week sonofabeach96 challenges us with the following:

This Which Way challenge is all about capturing the roads, walks, trails, rails, steps, signs, etc. we move from one place to another on.  You can walk on them, climb them, drive them, ride on them, as long as the specific way is visible.  Any angle of a bridge is acceptable as are any signs.

Yesterday I said goodbye to a friend, it feels strange that I will not see him again in the physical world, this was a place I first visited with him, and it was a place we visited on one of the last occasions I saw him, goodbye for now dear chap, I will see you for the B side.  Near this spot we both made decisions that would change and shape our future lives, the results of which made us both happy, it seems odd that I chose to revisit this place this year, but somehow right.

Therefore this week I chose this way:

Twisted Pandas – Kammie’s Oddball Challenge: June 27, 2019

Each week Kammie challenges us to post an oddball photo:

Odd Ball Photos are those great photos that you take which really don’t seem to fit into a common category.  We’ve all taken them and like them, because we just can’t hit delete and get rid of them.

Someone out there knows why, but not me!

Ancient Danger – Sunday Stills: #Danger

This week Teri has challenged us with:

This week’s Sunday Stills theme is “danger.”

Beware of the hidden dangers!  Ok folks so my use of this sign this may seem a little tongue in cheek, especially after a previous post that used one of the symbols, however we should take care of ourselves each and every day, be aware of the dangers that may be around us, and above all use a little common sense.

This week we visited Llandeilo, while there I saw this sign in the pub in which we ate, I would have taken it home if I could have.

Pay attention – Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Signs: traffic, directional, signs along the roads or on buildings

For this weeks Fun Foto Challenge Cee gives us the topic of ‘Signs:  traffic, directional, signs along the roads or on buildings’.

Those of you who follow my blog and saw my post ‘Hurty head‘, are probably thinking that I should pay more attention to signs such as this one below!

‘Pay attention’, Weobley Castle, 2014.Pay attention

Perhaps as visitors for such a short time we should seek to take care and avoid accidents, but let us live life to the full also.

“Life is one big road with lots of signs. So when you riding through the ruts, don’t complicate your mind. Flee from hate, mischief and jealousy. Don’t bury your thoughts, put your vision to reality. Wake Up and Live!” –  Bob Marley

The meaning of Cake! – Tuesday Photo Challenge: Cake.

Well this week Frank challenges us with the topic ‘Cake’:

This week, we roll in a different direction, as I had an appetite when coming up with the theme. After all those great entries, I thought it was time for Cake! Everyone deserves cake to celebrate and fill their need for dessert! I’m looking forward to seeing what kind of cake strikes your fancy and might make you ask for a second helping.

Yesterday we saw this sign outside a ‘Pet cemetery’ that is local to my father, it does have a tea room, just thought I better clarify that!

Whenever anyone mentions ‘Cake’, after I have got over the initial yummy thoughts, I tend to think of Eddy Izzard – If you do not know what I am talking about, a quick google search for ‘Cake or Death’ may be in order.  Anyway as a tangent it made me think of using this photo!

‘Or Death’, Dumfries, 2018.Or Death

And finally to bring things back on track, a cake made for the birthday of one of the other members of the band I play in, we happen to share the same birthday oddly.

Hurty head! – Friday Foto Fun: serious signs

For this weeks Friday Foto Fun we have been asked:

What signs have warned or directed your way?
Please share what significant signs have guided you …
either through your lens or in your own words?
Post a photo or get creative … add some humour!

I knew which photo I wanted to use for this immediately, a photo from some eleven years ago, funny how you retain some memories.  So here is a photo taken by my lovely wife as this was too good a challenge theme not to use it.  To be fair on myself I did not disregard the sign, I had just come from the corridor but had miscalculated hat head gap height coupled with the stair angle, that is my excuse anyway!  I could have easily entitled this one ‘pouty lip’, but instead went with …

Monk and sheep – Kammie’s Oddball Challenge: April 4, 2019

Each week Kammie challenges us to post an oddball photo:

Odd Ball Photos are those great photos that you take which really don’t seem to fit into a common category.  We’ve all taken them and like them, because we just can’t hit delete and get rid of them.

This week photos from Shap Abbey in Cumbria.  The first photo is of a sign on a gatepost I assume signifying that this is the way to the abbey, I find it quirky and odd, so probably not that odd that I took a photo.

And the second photo is just to give you a bit of context as to the location.
