Reality and Dreams – Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #36: Around the Neighborhood

This week Tina challenges us with – Neighborhood.

We’re looking forward to seeing what you found interesting this week in your own neighborhood or another that caught your eye and your lens.

So first a recent image of the sunset from our own street.

And then secondly it may come as no surprise to those of you that follow my blog that we would live in Cornwall given half the chance.  And therefore here is an early evening picture of St. Ives.

Spread your wings – Sunday Stills – High #Flight

This week Teri has challenged us with:

Flight has a variety of meanings, whether it is the obvious where something has wings and flies, or a flight of stairs, or fleeing from danger (flight or fight), or how about a flight of beer samples?

So here is a photo taken at a medieval fair in Caerphilly where there was a bird of prey show.

Shepherd’s Tulip – Weekly Prompts Photo Challenge – RED

This week GC and SueW pose us the following Challenge:

Welcome to February, the most romantic month of the year and the Photo Challenge RED!

Cast your minds back to the start of January and some of you may remember GC announcing our new monthly photo challenge, “At the start of each month a colour challenge will be offered to you.”

This month our colour is RED. Well, what else would it be?

So here are two interpretations from my archives.

I only saw the sky – Weekly Prompts – Photo Challenge Sky

This weekend the challenge GC and Sue W have set is Sky:

What about you, what do you see when your attention turns toward the sky?

As usual, this challenge is open to your own unique interpretation.

Sometimes the sky is enough.  ‘Light’ at Castlerigg Stone circle, Lake district, 2018.sky1

And at other times the sky harmonises perfectly with the shapes in the foreground.  ‘Formations’, Cairnholy II, Dumfries and Galloway, 2018.sky2

I wish I could say I waited for the clouds above to take that formation, but it was just one of those happy accidents that they accentuate the shape of Cairnholy II.

Flowers and sky – Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Blue and Yellow

For this weeks Fun Foto Challenge Cee asks:

This week the topic is Blue and Yellow.   I would prefer if your photos of blue and yellow in them.  If you don’t find that combination, you can use either color, just make sure that color is prominent. Feel free to use your photo archives and see what photos you have that fits the current week’s challenge, or even better yet grab you camera and take a new photo! ENJOY and have FUN.

So I had a couple of images in mind, and a trip into the archives resulted in the following photos that I reworked for the challenge.  The first of Gorse against a Blue sky in Cornwall sometime in 2015 with the a6000.

The next two are of a rapeseed field at Merthyr Mawr sometime in 2012 taken on the old Fuji HS20.

Sennen – Weekly Photo Challenge: Under Cloudy Skies

This week The ‘Traveling at Wits End‘ asks us to:

Photograph Under Cloudy Skies
I don’t usually think much of going out to photograph on a cloudy day, but these days can sometimes be the most rewarding. Also, sometimes a bit cold in winter so wrap up warm! . . . Instead head out for a quick look at the clouds this week to see if they’re doing anything interesting.

Where possible I always like to use photos from the current set I am working on – the inner challenge – not always possible, but at present I am editing a set of pictures from our trip to Cornwall in September.  So here are a couple of Sennen Cove for you.
