Reaching for an answer – One word Sunday Challenge: Monument / monumental

This week Debbie has challenged us with the following:

Welcome to One Word Sunday, and over to all of you to join the challenge with your own monument(al) post.

If there is one thing my library is not short of it is photos of monuments and the monumental.  So here is a photo from our recent trip to Fountains abbey, a truly monumental building.

Up to the sky – Tuesday Photo Challenge: Tower.

Well this week Frank challenges us with the topic:

This week’s theme of Tower can be taken in various directions, as it can be a verb or a noun… I’m looking forward to seeing your creative minds and hearts explore the Tower that is Towering!!

So here is my take of a towering tower.

High on a hill – One word Sunday Challenge: Tower

This week Debbie has challenged us with the following:

Welcome back to One Word Sunday, and over to all of you to join the challenge with your own tower post.

We had been shopping in Booths, Ulverston, while on holiday in the Lake district,  on our way to visit a stone circle, wo popped in to buy some lunch.  We came out after having spent more than we bargained for, mainly due to the two bottles of gin!  Looking across the car park we saw this tower on the hill opposite.  We really should visit it one day!
