Wild and tame – Lens Artists Photo Challenge #64 – Countryside and/or Small Towns

This weeks challenge from the Lens-Artists is:

Tina, Patti, Ann-Christine, and I [Amy] are looking forward to seeing your photos and reading stories of countryside and/or a small town.

I would say that at lest 50% of my photos could fit into this category as I live fairly rural, and my holidays usually take me to rural places, in search of ancient stones I tramp across wild open spaces, through forests, past lakes, up and down hill and mountain, and along public pathways.  Farmland and the ever patient farmers with the walkers on the land are a recurrent theme.  I live in Wales so I have access to some of the UK’s best countryside and small towns, even our big towns and cities are small :).

The countryside and our towns can be both wild and tame, so here are a few photos for you about what this means to me.

The smell of garlic – Sunday Stills: #Paths

This week in Teri is back, and  has challenged us with:

This week’s Sunday Stills theme is “paths.”

Well I have a fair few photos of paths and trails, and was looking through my archives and noticed this one.  The smell of garlic was almost tangible in the air as I looked at it!

Daily pleasure – Lens Artists Photo Challenge #48 – Wild

This week we are challenged us with:

There are many ways one might choose to interpret this week’s “wild” challenge – of course wild animals, but also wildflowers, the wild blue yonder, wild about “fill in the blank”, the wild, wild west….I could go on and on. Instead I’ll turn it over to you to show us YOUR perspective on what wild means to you.

Recently this woodpecker has been visiting us, well the nut feeder actually, almost on a daily basis, and we enjoy this fact very much.  It is about as wild a time as it gets for us on a damp South Wales day :), actually we a blessed with a garden that is bigger than average and thus we get to see our fair share of wildlife.
