Well this week V.J. has challenged us with:
This week, I am giving you a carte blanche…well, sort of… there’s a catch.
Go back over the last week’s worth of posts or so, and notice any words or phrases that repeat themselves. I’m talking adjectives, or verbs, maybe nouns.
Well given that my blog is mainly photographs this is an interesting challenge, in fact challenge and challenged have probably been the most common words used, when it comes to the most common shots they have been landscapes featuring ancient monuments and trees, and recently Long Meg and her daughters have featured a good few times. Hmm I could challenge myself with attempting to take a challenging shot of Long Meg and her daughters but as I live nearly 300 miles and nearly 6 hours away, this might have to wait for my next visit. Archives also appears quite frequently and therefore I have chosen to use the first shots I took of Long Meg. This is a 5 shot stitch taken on the old Minolta dimage z3 and never before edited!
‘Love at first sight’, Long Meg and her daughters, Cumbria, 2011.
Each week at XingfuMama we are asked to ‘Pull up a seat’.
So here is a shot pulled up from the archives.
‘Organic’, Cumbria, 2011.
Each week Kammie challenges us to post an oddball photo:
Odd Ball Photos are those great photos that you take which really don’t seem to fit into a common category. We’ve all taken them and like them, because we just can’t hit delete and get rid of them.
This week I went looking in the archives, friends had mentioned a holiday that had me looking back through some old shots. I found this photo taken on a Minolta Dimage Z3. While the photo itself is not that much of an oddball, being of a peat cutting ditch in the Outer Hebrides, the resultant mirrored image is a bit of an oddity.
‘Two roads to peat’, Outer Hebrides, 2009.
Normally upon seeing this weeks B&W photo challenge title from Cee, that of “WHAT IS BEAUTIFUL TO YOU“, I would have been rushing off to find photos, of Megaliths, Flowers or beautiful landscapes. Indeed I thought of posting some of those things.
However those of you who know me well, and/or are friends on Facebook will know that this week my wife Karen has been in hospital with appendicitis. So I thought I would post one of my favourite photos of her, and indeed a photo she herself is happy with, which is no small feat.
This was taken on our first digital camera, a DiMAGE Z3 in 2009 at Men-an-tol in Cornwall.
So ‘What is beautiful to’ me – Life, friendship, companionship and love.

Thank you Cee for choosing me as one of your featured bloggers this week.
Here are those other lucky featured souls.
