Tall giants.

Challenge: Weekly Prompts: Weekend Challenge
Topic: Tall

This weekend Sue and GC ask:

This Saturday the Weekend Challenge from partner GC and me is TALL.

So I think these are pretty tall, taken on a recent warm summer/autumn walk, the weather seems to be changing so fast at the moment!

Do you think these are elegant tall slim structures? Modern giants striding across the hills, or blots on the landscape.

I have to admit to having a love hate relationship with them, when I was young I saw a TV show that left me in fear of them. I have recently found that show on DVD and watched it again, the part in question must have been all of 3 minutes in the second episode, however this has stayed with me for over 40 years. I have to admit that having watched the episode now, and then taken the walk subsequently I did actually feel easier when walking under the ‘Bad wires’.

The TV show – ‘The Changes’.

  1. That’s a beautiful click! The monochrome seems to add a different dimension to the pic…..lonesome, steeped in melancholy for being alone.

    Loved the click. 🙂

  2. We used to play in the cow field at the end of our street, the field was actually a hillside and at the bottom was an electricity pylon, we kids were all scared stiff of it!
    Great shot, Ken.

    • Were the cows in the field at the same time? Cows never bothered my when growing up, I was certainly more scared of pylons! I was also lucky enough to grow up where I could play in fields with cows, sheep and the occasional shire horse, well not actually play with them, but you know what I mean 🙂

      • The cows used to chase us but it wasn’t until many years later that I realised why; they saw humans and assumed we’d brought food, they were running towards us for the expected food, not chasing us! Fortunately for us, they weren’t in that field all of the time.
